Los Angeles, CA

Slipping out of the bed while Lily still slept, Lindsey stretched, glanced at his beautiful girlfriend, and quietly left their bedroom.  He had hired someone recommended by Christine to come and decorate the house for the holidays, not wanting Lily to get overwhelmed with thoughts of hosting his mother and decorating.  Even as she assisted the decorator, he could tell it had been a good idea to follow his bandmate’s suggestion.  From there, he struggle even more when it came to finishing up the holiday plans.  While Thanksgiving passed without any major incident, he worried Christmas would not, especially since there was more on the line for Christmas.

Why?  It was Lily’s first Christmas.  Ever.

So everything, everything, had to be perfect.

His mother understood and even helped him plan his holiday festivities with Lily.  She was currently in the kitchen, preparing breakfast for the couple.  Lindsey intended to take a tray upstairs to wake up his girlfriend before telling her what their plans were for the day.

“Good morning, Mom,” he kissed her cheek after entering the kitchen. “That smells delicious.”

“Lily likes French Toast, right?”

“Oh she loves it,” he grinned. “I really appreciate this.”

“It’s my pleasure.  You know I love her.  And I couldn’t believe when you said she never had a Christmas before.”

“You know her childhood was… less than spectacular,” Lindsey stated, pouring a second cup of coffee for Lily. “This year has to… make up for all the years before.”

“That’s twenty-one years, Linds.”

“I know.  But this is a good start,” he smiled, piling the food onto a tray. “I’ll be back in… awhile.”

“Take your time, Linds.”

After waking Lily gently with breakfast in bed, which he would have loved to evolve into morning lovemaking but happily accepted kisses and oral sex, Lindsey left the bedroom with their plates while she got dressed for the day.  His mother said nothing as he quickly washed the dishes.

“I won’t wait up for you tonight,” she commented softly as he headed out of the room again. “But don’t be too late, or Santa will skip this house.”

Her eyes focused intently on the gates as Lindsey led her towards them.  She was completely speechless.  Lindsey already showered her with more love and affection than she had ever experienced before, but this was beyond belief.  He was giving her Christmas, in the most magical way imaginable.

“Linds…”

He squeezed her hand as they strolled around the highly decorated Main Street, “Welcome to Disneyland, Lil.”

“This is… this is amazing,” she breathed.

Her eyes danced from garlands to lights to stocking caps.  Everything seemed so alive, so magical.  She did not know where to look first, what to do first.  So she stopped in the center of Main Street, making Lindsey stop as well.

As she turned to look at him, Lindsey leaned down and kissed her softly.  No words were exchanged, as none were needed.  His lips touched hers once more before he turned to lead her through the magical park.  They strolled through the every land, purchasing a few trinkets, before Lindsey managed to convince Lily to step onto rides.  After three rides, they paused to lunch before continuing on through the rest of the magical day.

Kissing her sweetly as their boat coasted to a halt in It’s a Small World, Lindsey muttered, “Merry Christmas, darling.”

She embraced him tightly, kissing him again, “This is so amazing, Linds.”

He kissed her again, “Come on, baby.  We have a lot more to see.”

With his arms wrapped around Lily from behind, his head resting on top of hers, Lindsey smiled as the magical Christmas parade passed by them.  She giggled and gasped, clapping along with the children near them.  She swayed and danced along with the music, making Lindsey chuckle.  By the end of the parade, both were singing along with the carols.

“Lindsey!” Lily gasped. “That’s… that’s Santa Claus!”

He grinned at her childlike enthusiasm, “Yes, baby, it is.”

“I can’t believe… I can’t believe…”

Lindsey squeezed her, “There’s more…”

“Really?!”

“Shhhh,” he kissed her ear. “Just wait.”

Not even a full breath later, fluffy snowflakes began to flutter down around them.  Though she had experienced snow before, in their travels in the past few months, there was something far more magical about those snowflakes.  She pulled out of his arms and danced around in it, twirling around and giggling.  Lindsey watched for a few moments, loving how childlike her reaction was.

Her brilliant golden eyes turned to him.  Her fingers reached for him.  With a smile, he interlaced his fingers with her and stepped forward.  He pulled his hands free from hers and cupped her face.  The magical snowflakes continued to flutter around them as their lips met in a loving kiss.

“Oh Lindsey… Lindsey, I believe…in the magic of Christmas.”

“So do I, Lily.  So do I.”
